This Event is free & open to the public. Meet, ask questions, and take photos with some of history's most famous women, portrayed by historians and actors. Register to vote with the League of Women Voters, make a craft, and more! Nellie Bly (1864-1922): Nellie Bly became a star journalist by going undercover as a patient at a New York City mental health asylum in 1887 and exposing its terrible conditions in the New York World. Her reporting not only raised awareness about mental health treatment and led to improvements in institutional conditions, it also ushered in an age of investigative journalism. -Womenshistory.org
Nellie will be portrayed by Debra Miller. Debra is a professional actress, vocalist and voice-over talent with over 30 years of experience as a performer for live audiences, television, and film.
