Laura Ingalls Wilder: All I Have Told Is True

In the summer of 1937,  Laura Ingalls Wilder, and her husband Almanzo moved from the Rock House on their property in Mansfield Mo., back into the farmhouse they loved.  Call on Laura in September of that year. Her 4th book, On the Banks of Plum Creek, is about to be published and Laura prepares for what will be her only national public speaking engagement, for the Detroit Book Fair. Listen as Laura reminisces about her childhood, her marriage, and the "truth" of her tales.

Laura was “past 60 when I wrote my first book”, Little House in the Big Woods; but Laura Ingalls Wilder began writing about her childhood and life in the midwest long before the “Little House” books. Through excerpts from her manuscripts, letters and articles, Laura speaks about writing for the Missouri Ruralist, her daughter Rose, and the lost years between On the Banks of Plum Creek and By the Shores of Silver Lake.
